Good afternoon, Purposeful Hearts! Today I’m taking a moment to offer some help for one of life’s most challenging social contexts – helping those around us who are grieving. Perhaps you could use some support as you grieve as well!
With the holidays quickly approaching (as they seem to do with greater speed each year), I’m sharing a link to a devotional book I wrote several years ago during a difficult season of personal loss and grief. I longed to escape the hurt and find healing. I longed to transform the intrusive, painful thoughts into something of purpose and intention. At the time, I couldn’t find a resource that offered what I needed, so I created one called “Purposeful Grieving: Embracing God’s Will in the Midst of Loss.”
This book features 8 weeks of daily devotions, which means the timing of each page of grief support lines up with this year’s journey through the holidays.
My prayer is that you and your loved ones walk boldly into the holidays, no matter the emotional challenges that await you. Each difficult moment is an opportunity to be held by your loving God, a time to grow personally, and a chance to connect with the people around you. You are not alone in your grief!
